Where to touch it. Visiting the animals

Petting representatives of the animal world and communicating with them closer is the dream of many kids. This is an invaluable emotional and tactile experience. Meeting a live squirrel or baby goat helps to better imagine the heroes of your favorite fairy tales, brings joy and is remembered more effectively than pictures in a book.

The White Kangaroo network of petting zoos is located in 3 shopping centers: Vegas Crocus City shopping center, Kuntsevo Plaza shopping center and XL-3 shopping center. Each zoo has large contact areas where visitors can feed and pet goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea fowl and ornamental chickens. There are also rare animals here: white and gray wallabies, surricats, raccoons, peacocks, porcupines, ostriches, nosebills, hornbills and koi carps. The White Kangaroo zoos have long gone beyond the simple “contact” format - they are, rather, family entertainment centers decorated in the style of “Alice in Wonderland.” Among other things, there are 2 unique expositions: “The Secret World” in the Vegas Crocus City shopping center and “City of Monkeys” in the Kuntsevo Plaza shopping center. “The Secret World” is an exhibition consisting of a hall where nocturnal animals live, in conditions close to their natural environment (during the day they have night, and at night they have day), as well as the “Castle of the Queen of Hearts” - where visitors find themselves on a quest -excursion. “City of Monkeys” is an exhibition made in the spirit of castles in Cambodia. Rare monkeys live here - mangabeys, Wolf's monkeys, Kata lemurs, lion-headed tamarins. In addition, Doctor Kangu's Laboratory is open at the zoo in the Vegas Crocus City shopping center. Chemistry and biology teachers tell children simply about complex things.

Still, little animals are not toys, and all branches of the network have rules for treating animals that visitors are asked to follow. The inhabitants of the zoo - Canadian fox, eastern colobus, kinkajou, kangaroo, llama Guanaco and Alpaca, rabbits, goats, lambs and other funny little animals have grown up in human society and are not at all afraid of people since childhood. You can and should pet them and take pictures, but they still ask you not to shine a flash in your pet’s eyes. Interesting and detailed stories from zoo staff about animals, their habits and the rules for keeping them help children not only learn more about nature and its inhabitants, but also encourage them to treat our little brothers with respect. The “Zveryushki” chain of zoos is the largest in Moscow and the region; there is a branch in Kursk. Zoos host creative master classes, educational excursions, and organize children’s birthdays and holidays. Zoo pets can come to events and children's parties.

Mini-zoos in the city

The mini-zoo near the Retail Park shopping center is a children's playground, next to which settlers from the village live: goats, rabbits, geese and chickens, piglets and sheep. You can feed and pet them.

And the yard at st. Makarenko, 6, not far from the Chistye Prudy metro station, is popularly called the Yard-Zoo. There you can see guinea fowl, crested pigeons and swans. But you can’t feed the animals; they are already “fed well.”

There is a small zoo in Filevsky Park, and in Khamovniki Park there is a tiny poultry yard: pheasants, turkey ducks, chickens, geese and an aviary with squirrels. Tailed jumpers live in Sokolniki Park, and in Babushkinsky Park, and in Tsaritsyno, and in Kuskovo, they resort to feeders, and in the same Kuzminki there is also a separate enclosure with squirrels. The mini-zoo in the Park of Culture is inhabited by pheasants, and the park is also home to a shy rabbit and graceful swans.

underwater world

More than eight thousand animals have settled here, including 500 species of fish - from small coral inhabitants to three-meter sharks and Russian sturgeon. A swimming area with dolphins will begin operating very soon: seven special pools have been equipped, and an instructor will be assigned to each dolphin, who will monitor what is happening in the water and help the swimmers. And in the touch pool area you can touch starfish or small needletails without removing them from the water.

Exhibition of tropical butterflies Tropicarium

You can feel the touch of colorful wings and take a closer look at the colorful beauties by visiting. Of course, you cannot touch butterflies with your hands, but they themselves sometimes land on visitors. The main thing here is not to give in to temptation. Any carelessness can lead to the death of the winged beauty.

The large zoo, which opened in the RIO shopping center on Dmitrovskoye Shosse, boasts a collection of more than 400 inhabitants of hot savannahs, endless deserts and tropical forests. More than 50 species of rare exotic representatives from various parts of our planet are presented here. Animals came to Moscow from distant countries in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia, and even from Australia!

Colorful birds of paradise, reptiles, amphibians, predatory and herbivorous mammals now live in special conditions that are as close as possible to their natural habitat. Among them there are rare animals that cannot be found in Russian zoos. True, you can’t touch them, but in a special area children can feed and pet some not so rare animals, for example, goats.

Country ENOTIYA

In the shopping center “Vodny” at the Vodny stadium and in the shopping center “Izmailovo” there are small but very pleasant petting zoos “Raccoon Country”. There you can find noses, raccoons, goats, sheep, rabbits, turtles, guinea pigs and many birds. In addition to communicating with wildlife, children are offered various master classes, and you can celebrate a child’s birthday here.

Well, if distances don’t scare you, and you consider yourself to be a tireless traveler, then, leaving the Moscow Ring Road, you can get acquainted with many interesting inhabitants of private zoos and farms.

Just 30 kilometers from Moscow, amazing miniature horses live. These mini-horses, no taller than 86 centimeters tall, can follow commands and can even ride a rider weighing up to 35 kilograms. “Teddy” horses can be petted, their hair braided, watered and fed. There is also a pony club and the opportunity to ride a regular horse.

The first one in Russia arose on the site of an extinct farm in the village of Gorki in the Kolomensky district. Not only exotic chickens are welcome here, but also African ostrich, geese, raccoon, porcupine, deer and even a Bactrian camel. You can not only look after them, but also take custody of the animal, providing it with the necessary assistance.

An amazing example of how love for living beings can turn into a lifelong endeavor. After all, the creators started with a small collection of birds, and now there is both a zoo and a nursery for rare birds.

It was also not limited to African and Australian feathered runners. In addition to the graceful “owners”, there are purebred chickens and geese, camels, and rabbits. Master classes on painting ostrich eggs and exciting excursions are also held here.

Touching zoo “Pet the Raccoon”

Located in the Mozaika shopping center. At the zoo you can watch, feed and pet raccoons, probably one of the most “human” animals after monkeys. In addition to raccoons, the zoo has goats, hedgehogs, meerkats and lemurs.

And 55 kilometers from the capital in the village of Yurovskoye there is a farm “MNK-Agro”, where black African ostriches, guinea fowl, chickens are bred, and a cute donkey also lives here.

Go introduce your children to the animal world and don’t forget to take a souvenir photo so that friends and family can be convinced that your young naturalist actually fed an ostrich and petted a camel, or met a goat in the city center. And the baby himself will probably remember the happy moments of communication with tailed and winged friends.

Museum-Theater “Our Ice Age”

Exotic PARK, which is located 25 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along Kaluga Highway and occupies more than 6 hectares, has become a wonderful entertainment for children and adults. And who is there: a variety of birds and fish, zebras and lions, hyenas and tigers, a lot of exotic animals.

The park is famous for the fact that some pets can be touched. Children are indescribably delighted when they find out that animals can be petted. Of course, adults control the process, and this only applies to good-natured animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, mini pigs and ponies. You can even ride a pony.

There is an aquaterrarium in a separate two-story building, and on weekends a circus gives performances in the park. The health, well-being and hygiene of animals at Exzootic PARK are monitored by certified zoologists and veterinarians. In addition to animals, the park has attractions for children, you can eat in a cafe or buy a souvenir in the souvenir shop. It is possible to organize a children's party at Exzootic PARK. In case of unforeseen circumstances, there is a mother and child room.

A little about animals

Let's get acquainted with some of the inhabitants of Exzootic PARK. The kangaroo named Benetta is a very cute gray animal with reddish fur on its shoulders and a white belly. Height is approximately one meter and weight is 15 kg. Kangaroos appear to be good-natured, but you should not get too close to them - when frightened, the animal is able to knock down an adult with a blow from its hind legs.

One of the largest owls in the world is the eagle owl. It can weigh more than 4 kg and has a wingspan of almost 2 m. In captivity, eagle owls live up to 60 years. This bird of prey feeds on animals ranging in size from mice to deer.

The park is home to a rare animal, the capybara. This capybara is the largest rodent in the world. The capybara has a very funny look; it seems that it is constantly about to sit down. This is because her hind legs are shorter than her front legs and she has no tail at all.

The largest bird on the Australian mainland, the emu, is amazing. She is 2 meters tall and weighs about 50 kg. She runs at a speed of 50 km/h and may not eat or drink anything for a very long time. Despite her large size, she looks quite funny with her long neck and fluff on her head. Emu is very curious and looks at people with genuine interest. You might think that she came on an excursion - to see people.

One of the friendliest animals in the zoo are red-tailed monkeys. They weigh 2-6 kg and have black facial fur with a white patch on the nose and cheeks. They put on entire performances for visitors, jumping, climbing around the enclosure and it seems that with all their behavior they copy their distant relatives - humans.

The large male orangutan is also very happy with the guests; he willingly communicates with visitors, even parodying human habits. Funny raccoons stretch their furry paws through the enclosure, begging children for popcorn and other goodies. There are also animals in Exzootic PARK that you don’t want to get close to - these are hyenas and tigers. They sit in their enclosures, sometimes lazily moving from place to place, and somehow suspiciously lick their lips, looking at people.

By the end of the excursion, guests will have accumulated many impressions. A visit to such a place as Exzootic PARK cannot leave either children or their parents indifferent. A good mood from communicating with the animal world is guaranteed for a long time.

Experts believe that communication with animals has a beneficial effect on people's mental health. We've found five places to go to meet furry therapists. These specialists will require food and affection from you as payment.

Find yourself in the kingdom of rabbits

The island of Okunoshima in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan is inhabited only by rabbits. Note that this island was classified for a long time, since during the Second World War a top-secret production of poisonous gases was located there. After the war, the laboratory was destroyed and the island was deserted. Now only the museum and the empty factory buildings remind of the past.

There are two versions of how the fluffies got to the island. Perhaps these are the descendants of experimental animals, or maybe the descendants of six rabbits that were left here in the 70s by schoolchildren who came on an excursion. Now their number reaches almost a thousand, because there are no natural enemies on the island. Moreover, local authorities carefully protect the highlight of the new tourist attraction - it is prohibited to come to the island with cats and dogs. What is welcome is food for animals. Rabbits will enjoy the treats with pleasure and will not hesitate to jump right onto your lap.

Listen to the synchronized purring

There are two more unusual islands in Japan - Aoshima and Tashiro. Here other fluffies rule the roost: cats. Their population is several times larger than that of humans. The islands turned into cats in about the same way. Cats were imported en masse to fight rats. On Tashiro, rodents destroyed silkworm caterpillars, and on Aoshima, they damaged fishermen's nets. However, the young population left the islands, leaving only pensioners and feral cats.

Note that cats saved the inhabitants of Tashiro Island from the last devastating earthquake in 2011. They, sensing trouble, raised such a howl that people took notice and evacuated to the top of the hill. Note that in Japan, cats are considered sacred, so on these islands you can find cat temples, as well as houses reminiscent of these animals. Bring a couple of bags of food for your mustache and tabby and enjoy the synchronized purring!

Hug with a giant panda

This can be done at the research center for studying the breeding process of giant pandas in the Chengdu Nature Reserve in China. Here, on an area of 200 hectares, giant pandas, as well as their relatives, miniature but no less beautiful red pandas, live in an environment close to nature. Visitors can observe their lives while walking along paved trails.

There are also several restaurants and a pond with black swans. By the way, to see awake pandas, you need to come to their feeding at 8.30 - 9.00, because the rest of the time these cute creatures sleep. Please note that the service of photographing cuddles with pandas is not currently available in order to protect the animals from the outbreak of certain diseases. However, previously such a pleasure cost about 2,000 yuan, and tourists had to book the opportunity to communicate with pandas in advance. The entrance ticket costs 58 yuan.

Meet the lemurs

Since the cartoon “Madagascar” conquered the world, lemurs have firmly established themselves on the list of cute things to watch. You can interact with these amazing animals with expressive eyes on their home island.

If the inhabitants of the wild are unlikely to allow you to touch them, then the animals living on the territory of the Vakona Forest Lodge are completely tame. Please note that the hotel is located in a picturesque location on the border of several natural parks. It is made in eco-style and consists of 28 bungalows; the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the lake.

Hold a koala

The koala rounds out our top five cutest animals. At the Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand, for 1,000 baht you can hold these eternally sleepy creatures from Australia in your arms. By the way, to see tree bears awake, you need to come to the zoo from 8.00 to 9.00 and from 16.00 to 17.00, at which time the animals are fed. In addition to these wonderful creatures, the zoo is home to hippos, elephants, pandas and other animals. Entrance costs 150 baht.
